  • An introduction of sorts.

I'm having a really hard time finding any sort of thread in which to introduce yourself. So I thought I'd do the most obnoxious thing and make a new thread. (I apologise)

I've been a guest viewer of this forum for some time, I just for some reason or another never really got round to making an account.

My name is Dale, currently a student. And I am very nearly 21.

I'm half-way through a novel, and I have had some poetry published. Mark is, as I guess the same for some of you, an inspiration to me. Not only in style, but perseverance.

I hope to make friends here, I'm friendly as fuck - honest.

Greetings Dale from another new member! Good luck on finishing your novel, can you share any information on it?

Hey Dale, welcome to the forums! It's refreshing to see someone a little closer to my age here.

Well I started drafting the novel just before university, and I spent most of my first year writing it. I got pretty obsessed with it in all fairness.

I was going to start knuckling down the second year and actually finish my degree, but my Verse and Narrative tutor liked my poetry so much that she gave me the opportunity to take the year off to finish my novel. (She published my poetry in her own collection)

So for the last year I have been frantically writing pretty much every single day, trying to finish this novel - and then returning next year to go through the rest of the processes, and then subsequently finish my degree.

As for plot-wise, I don't want to give too much away unless something actually comes from it - but I will most likely make a thread in the future to share work and what not.

And hello everyone again, thank you for the welcome. It's refreshing to see such friendly responses, I've been on a few other boards and I had the classic village pub response. Everyone puts down their drinks and stares at the new kid until he submits and leaves quietly.
