Looks like there won't be enough funding for the 3D printer so new plans are:

Finish the robot I was building for the mechatronics class I took last spring.

Find a research position at the school.

raise enough money to buy a new macbook because my dumbass cousin, skye, spilled coke all over my old one and now it's dead and i can only go on the computer at school or in the business center in the apartment up the street.

I've joined a Chinese Theatre Company this year as one of their resident translators (Mandarin to English), I have high hopes of being able to completely finish translating the website within the week, and completing the script translation in less than a month. We'll see how this goes, it's already been a very fulfilling challenge.

Well, I have been studying and working on my experiment, but feeling very unmotivated. Vacations are good.

My plan for the summer? Relax as well as work hard (per usual). Although, when my boss is out of town, slacking off is easier. I had a dream last night he called me asking for updates... oops. nothing to update. haha.

How much longer do you have left in your degree?

2-3 years. Lots of theory and writing left. And a big qualifying test.

And you're already burning out? Better find a way to turn your dissertation work into a drinking game STAT!

Haha, nah, not burning out. It just comes in cycles. We had a big proposal due a couple weeks ago, so there were a few months of 12-14 hr days working really hard to get the necessary preliminary data and figures. Time for a vacation. This upcoming week will be hardcore again.

Every time a bug is found in the code, take a shot...

                  Whoops. Drunk.

                    My summer goals:

                    Pop out a baby
                    Move to a new city
                    Interview for (current) dream job

...all within the same week...and hopefully in that order. Funny how life throws everything at you at once.

Please tell me it's not in that order po...

My goals: follow through with HoL reread, finish getting my all schmancy, take a vacation, continue avoiding my in-laws.

Seems to have been lots of working whilst rain has been happening. A week in Cornwall next week relaxing with the girls, not on an exotic island but it actually suits me just fine.

Having said that I was in Algonquin this time last year soaking up the wilds and that would do just fine too.

Oh and po-m, massive congrats on the baby. I remember posting on here when my first was born and that was 7 years ago - time flies, enjoy it all and I guarantee when the little feet arrive, life gets pretty damn amazing. x

Make this thousand-mile move as painless as possible. So far, so good.
