I just read the book and I was struck by a discordant element of Pelefina's death. In the coded letter (May 8, 1987), she refers to herself as "a fifty-nine-year-old sack of bones".
But in the director's letter of May 5, 1989, they say that Pelefina dies at the age of 59. How is this explained?
