This is an acrostic for Zampano. Could be a part of the phrase "My dear Zampano who did you lose?" in some form or another.Originally Posted by p. 759

All men are islands, influenced by the wind.
Hello to everyone. I just signed up in the forum, I'm italian, though living in France; I have my copy of Casa di foglie here, and I can help with this post (it's from one year ago, but I hope it will help).
In facts, the complete acrostic on page 759 is:
which makes: "Caro Zampanò chi hai perduto?". That's the correct and complete italian translation of "My dear Zampano who did you lose?".Cospicui anni rovinati o zelantemente abbattuti. Meraviglie premeditate a neutralizzarmi (o cancellarmi?): hall, istituti... Hai almeno intimo pensiero, errante ragazzo, di una terribile opera?
I hope that was useful.
Best regards
Awesome Herbert! Thank you.
