I disassembed the badges to get the little flasher light out, hollowed out the rubies, then stuck the flashers in and glued the whole mess together, then stuck 'em on our palms with monster double-sided tape. Too cool!

I was going to top the whole thing off by hiring someone to play a sandman - he was to dress in a sandman costume of my design, then crash the Halloween party we were attending, chase us down and kill us (not for real). A bit over-ambitious, I guess. But man, that would have been one sweet tableau.
Nice! The biggest problem with Halloween is that 90% of people put no thought or effort into their costumes. Just once I want to be at the party where everyone takes it seriously. Well, not too seriously. I'll bet the one or two people that did recognize you really got a kick out of it though.

Last night - Herzog's Cave of Forgotten Dreams. Highly recommended. Just know you will probably come out of that picture with a different concept of humanity than the one you went in with. That was the consensus of my film group.

EDIT: Oh yeah, slow dog, a couple people did know who we were and they were very impressed. Especially since, in the context of the film, we would have been running for quite some time.

    Total Recall (2012). Very good.

    Also, Kate Beckinsale... yum.

Edit: too much lens flare. Haha. Also, very Blade Runner-y.

    A) Why do they spell it Rekall? B) Same story line or completely new film?

I think it was Rekal in the book. (Edit: confirmed)

Same overarching themes as the old movie, but both movies are quite separate from the book.

    First movie: Earth and Mars
    This movie: Britain and Australia

That's all I'll say. It's really pretty awesome and clever.

Season 2 sucks. Take a shot every time Laurie is a bad mother....

I had to drop out mid-season 1. As I think I noted here - too many heartfelt speeches and not enough zombies.

But I can see the appeal compared to everything else on television.

I loved Walking Dead season 1 but haven't seen 2 yet. Also late to the game: Game of Thrones season one. And just started the first book to keep me occupied til March when season 2 is released. =\

    Just thought I'd share with everyone a crash course on Australian Politics. Like a lot of other countries, our politicians speech is filled with rhetoric and nonsense, and it's practically impossible to get a straight answer out of them. Even if their answers, while direct, are detailed and extensive, I'd be fine with that - but the most important thing I hope to see is someone being a leader. I just can't see it in Abbot, but, sadly, I can't see it in any of the politicians in Australia right now. Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not saying we need a charismatic, cinematic style politician to save the world, but what we have now? Here, see for yourself;

I have to catch up on the movies, I am a bit behind.

I've come to believe errors, especially written errors, are often the only markers left by a solitary life: to sacrifice them is to lose the angles of personality, the riddle of a soul. In this case a very old soul. A very old riddle.

    Amour.

    Devastatingly beautiful & tender.

In my opinion, the finest film of 2012.

    Bag of Bones miniseries...

That was really bad. I recommend drinking while watching it.

"Really bad" doesn't quite cover it. It was fucking awful. Brosnan should have known better. Hell, even George should have known better.

I'm re-watching Breaking Bad Seasons 1-5 for about the eleventh time. Easily the best damn series I've seen in my life.

Oh and I watched Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind again last night and fell in love with winslet again.

I'm a huge Family Guy fan also and I've seen this already and thought it was hilarious - but gratz on the quick wit.

Was it too much for every woman you've ever tried to love? Is that why you're alone? Or should we leave that door closed. Too sensitive?

I'm currently watching 'Fatwouls Life' and it's just an old un-plugged TV with no picture. Just a blank void of loneliness and fear.
