A better question is: who isn't pumped? I think we're all looking forward to it. (Maybe too much)

Didn't know quite where to stick this, so I'll just stick it here. Possible ideas for signed copies. He could do purple, gold and green o's. Which is not a far stretch by any means. I think a green "o" with a blue "z" through it would be great. Wouldn't that be over the rainbow?

I want that full color edition of of Leaves almost as much as I want the new book. That is a difficult competition.

Is the full color only a limited release? Because I won't have the money to buy it right away... ?
But then again, I would want to get it before MZD comes to Seattle...

I'm guessing full color is going to become the standard edition form now on, so your blue copy will become a legend in time as the Full-Color once was.

    amazon bastards...

I ordered two "remastered full-colour editions" from Amazon only to receive the normal "house in blue" edition. I wanted the full colour & the preview/foreward for myself and a friend.

Just a heads up for anyone ordering from amazon with expectations of getting what's advertised. Go to a book store to make sure you're getting the goods.

Damn! I just ordered a full color-ed form Amazon myself! You should return those items. I've never had any troubles with Amazon before, but I know form a friend who had some troubles in the past that the Return Department in Amazon is quite professional, so you should ask for your money or prper replacements...

Damn, those are bad news! And since I'm in Mexico and the book isn't coming as I expected, how am I going to get a Full-Color ed?

And I can't cancel the order! It just shipped a few hours ago! :banghead:

elmago and underscore, I think it's best if you ask for cash back instead of a replacement; they've already screwed it up once, they might screw it up again. And then perhaps you could ask a forumite who'd volunteer to send you verified copies bought from a bookstore.

Oh yeah, BEA was this past weekend. It was mentioned in the Random PDF. I wonder if that's all they did, or if there was something else to the feature.

Anyway, there is one on eBay right now, was wondering where it came from.

Julie - you're in the material world now. We have a fascinating small group of members whose interests are firmly in the area of MZD artefacts, ephemera and marginalia--personal appearances, book editions, interviews, etc. - everything but the books' actual content. They are like an unpaid army of publicists and viral marketers, deeply committed to following the author's movements, his public statements, various editions of his books and how to find them, ARCs and publishing events, Web resources (Forums, PDFs, MPEGS) and so on, as well as dissemination of this information.

We cannot but thank them for their service and their tireless efforts. And I don't get it either.

I am going to try very hard to translate MicheleVR5's post:

eep: short for "Wild Eep!" - The shockingly beautiful sound made by an elegant creature which once graced the Macintosh system sounds.

body of the post: Signed one is up with pics! - alludes to the posting at an online auction site of a signed copy of a book that is not released until September.

And it also seems to have a different cover...

    (Edited to add the following):

I've decided that I will not bid on the above mentioned item. I don't want someone's second hand signed version of a book I've already pre-ordered from five other places.

Also, someday I may present to you photographic evidence of the real world MZD museum. Compleat with MZD artefacts, ephemera and marginalia--personal appearances, book editions, interviews, etc. - as well as the books' actual content.

Oh, on eBay... gotcha. I obviously don't spend as much time on there as some people.

Still, yes, very exciting. The person selling it must have been chuffed to bits to get an actual signed copy...

Bleh @ people that don't care about the book getting it just to Ebay.

But, we do have a bit of the inside there.. http://i12.ebayimg.com/03/i/07/3f/07/c9_1.JPG
    to post it again.

You were there. as a dedication, an H on the page past it, and three circles on the page before, kinda like the three differently colored o's, hrm? Having trouble making out the words on that prior page though...

I have this thing where like, I think people can read my mind and stuff, and to my warped brain, a logical following of "[object] posted" one post down from a post about a similar object eBay, would be that the newer object can be found on eBay.

Instead, I confused you guys, I didn't even mention the pictures in my original post cuz I figured then people would be surprised, and I ended up missing my train for work by about five seconds. DOH

Um, don't mind me, you guys can go back to speculating now!

seems to me that this guy is making money by selling his ARCs, and taking advantage of the people that don't have the privilige of recieveing them as he does, don't know if that's something I agree with

doesn't even look like he even read the book and I'm sure the buyer that's bidding $142 just wants to be able to read it before September...err

When I first saw that yellow eye cover I thought that the yellow eye was for the ARC and the one released on Sept 5th would be the green eye we saw earlier. But it seems some ARCs are also green, which means there'll probably be both yellow and green covers for us later, and I'm guessing a purple one too. Quite possibly some sort of difference of editions between the different covers, ala blue/red HoL.
