Perhaps it isnt entirely impossible because I've had several dreams where I am reading books in my dream. I never remember what I was reading once I wake up but it seemed very thought prokvoking (who knows maybe it was just a Dr Seuss book lol)Originally Posted by 1exist

i haven't had any nightmares from HoL....
sleep is good for me.
it's when i'm awake that i'm scared. i always have this feeling that the room i'm in is slowly growing larger.. and larger..
but only when i'm alone.
and now i have a newfound fear of the dark.
eek. what a book can do to you.
I had a dream the other night that this sight had been deleted.
All I could see was the usually black background except in the center of the screen was a short paragraph that said this site is no longer accessible as it is being changed to "". I was annoyed and excited at the same time in my dream as I read the paragraph, but mainly dissapointed as I was sure I had something extremely important to say.

I can read things in my dreams.....kind of, only all the text is in french....and I cant read french. I also dream lucidly....I fly in most of my dreams. its very strange though because it's as if I'm always new to flying because it sort of a tugging at the back of my neck that I can control, but sometimes I lose control and I start to float away and I have to hold on to something and pull myself back down to earth. Anyways I definately have nightmares because of HoL. Most of my nightmares consist of my family members turning into monsters and me trying to love them....particularly my stepmother......who turns into the devil and wont let go of my arms. But my least favorite dream is a reaccuring one I have where I cant open my eyes. It's as if there are lead weights on my eyelidsd so I am prevented from seeing my dream except for glimpses of it...very unsatisfying.
i just finished reading the book today. i've definatley had my fair share of nightmares. .
one is a dream within a dream, where i wake up and look over at my guitar which is laying on the ground softly being strummed by an invisible hand. . a tune i've never heard . . . my heart starts beating at an alarmingly fast pace, and my bed starts shaking. i try and move but im completly paralyzed, my eyes glued to the guitar. . . then everything turns black . . and i know im going to die. . . when i eventually wake up for real i realize that i had been moving my feet, making me think the bed was shaking. . . .
it was pretty scary . . im still a bit shaken up from it
This isn't a dream, but it certainly falls under the category of "Effects"
I finished the book about a week ago, and then, almost immediately after, I went on vacation for three days. That's not a good thing for someone who was genuinely shaken by some of it. So, on the way home, for a brief moment, I genuinely thought "there better not be any new doors when we get back."
For the main question is Yes, My toe hurts, I have had moments of neing crippling, feeling of being stalked, and have a new fear of the dark, like something is in the dark waiting for me.
I had an interesting dream the other day, acctually it was two dreams but the second dream had more to do with house of leaves, interestingly I was telling people about my first dream in my second dream.
The first dream got stranded at night in another part of town and had to ride home on the busat 2 or three in the morning. when I finally got home I had to go to school and didn't get any sleep.
In my second dream, I was part of some sort of resaerch team in this room with a forest in it. We were trying to figure out which leaves were left by aliens to our room. we searched around for leaves that seemed strange. the first leaf thought to be forein or unearthly was baisically an extremely hairy cottonwood leaf. this one heavyset kid ripped off part of the leaf and put it in this glass egg type thing. then he went into this white room with the egg to learn about the leaf (The room was sort of like the hitchhikers guide to the universe) but this leaf wasn't the one we were searching for . There were two leaves in particular that were of everybody's interest. At first, these two leaves seemed like they were pretty much identical, they were sort of like wych elm leaves, only they were lighter colored and they had darker spots. I was studying the aspects of the leaves, noting the jagged edges of the one on the left and the small hairs. Then I looked over at right leaf (I was holding it in my right hand) and I noticed it was skinnier than the other leaf, alot more like an ash tree leaf. but the dream ended before I got a chance to put it in the egg thing and take it in the room with me.

I like Kyem's theory better.
I have had no nightmares or bad experiences. I even read the book at night to see if I could freak myself out. Didn't happen.Originally Posted by Themnoria

the scariest part is yourself.
Also, I find reading it in a tipi is especially scary.
i've always had nightmares. i don't think i'd attribute any of it toof Leaves. i used to get night terrors. i'd be paralyzed in my bed and absolutely certain that there was someone on the other side of my door with a gun or knife ready to kill me.

This might sound silly to some, but I'm DEAD serious about the horror I get through from time to time:
Well, i've always imagined Johnny as Johnny Borrell of RaZorlight, because he seems like a wandering truan too (I love the band, and I love the Gob almighty:)
BUt when I finished reading the book I keep dreaming about Johnny Borrell getting killed
or suffering terrible pain from various reasons. Whenever I lay my hands on the book from any reason, I can't stop thinking about Johnny B, battered and week...It' really bugging me![]()
Told you I'd look sillyOriginally Posted by benedict
But it's really a problem, I even sometimes think about theof leaves while I'm watching RaZorligt videos...
