FORMULA

{-BC}Y = (Z[AXZ+{X}ABC])

X = MAIN IDEA
A = PROTAGONIST
B = PARALLELS
C = THEMES
Y = ANTAGONIST(S)
Z = AUDIENCE

In my screen play, A reveals X to Z. Then A with the help of B and C causes Z to feel as though X is tangible. Only Z notices these ramifacations because ABC are unaware that Z exists. Skip to the end of the screen play when Y appears, and reveals to ABCZ that it has been the real controller since the beginning of the screen play using different methods of BC of X.
In the House of Leaves I believe that the audience is MZD. As for the people who purchased HOL and read it-well there is not a word in the english dictionary that describes what we are- something like.. audience-slave and MZD's playgound-consumers.

Possibly he's trying to make us into characters, by making us trawl through the labyrinth & making johnny & navidson read the same book as the audience. From one point of view, the book is the house therefore we are the explorers.
