I sure hope my work likes me enough to let me take off for this tour and Tori tour...
Thanks for the advance warning...going to try to get our access to mzd.info fixed again so we can update...

(counts available time off available from work today... adds hours that will be available by "late September"... determines it wouldn't be a good idea to call off tomorrow.)
YAY! TOUR!
(tries to remember the password for the Always 16 blog and mzdinfo YouTube sites...)
And Audio too? Mzrk is too kind...
(calculates costs on iTunes versus amount of money that will be available in the bank after pre-order of paperbacks, travel arrangements for the paperback tour and the inevitable translations.)

Last year as part of his tour, he spoke at the International Festival of Authors in
Toronto. Checking that website, I do not see him on the list for this year though.

This thread is starting to become much like Camelot.
benedict
07-05-2007, 01:08 PM
camelot eh? then we must mention these knights:
We're Knights of the Round Table,
We dance when ere we're able,
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable.
We dine well here in Camelot,
We eat ham and jam and spam a lot.
We're Knights of the Round Table,
Our show are formidable,
But many times, we're given rhymes
That are quite unsingable.
We're Opera mad in Camelot,
We sing from the diaphragm
a looooooot.
In war we're tough and able,
Quite indefatigable,
Between our quests we sequin vests,
And impersonate Clark Gable.
It's a busy life in Camelot,
I have to push the pram a lot.

mebbe. we'll see. i'll be living in las-ass-hole-of-the-universe-vegas very shortly. which is.. a little less than 600 miles. so like. 150 bucks there and back if gas stays around 3.25 a gallon. (you'll not catch me complaining about gas prices)

Yeah... I just checked - flight, hotel, food, cab rides, etc... the cost from here to there (SF on 09/06/07, for those who got carried away by the knights), ends up around $700 or something huge like that. Hell, the round-trip plane tickets are $250.
Heh, maybe I should wait for a more complete tour list.

As soon as we have dates and locations, we'll be planning to cover the paperback tour, much like we did the hardcover tour.
Also, if anyone would like to contribute photos, audio, or video from MZD events, we'd be happy to update the blog with your material and give you full credit.
Our hope is to go to areas we didn't cover on the hardcover tour, but we're still waiting on official dates before we proceed.
Thanks for your continued interest!

I've an audio file, but can't share it. It's a PM leaved on my gsm by Mark himself.:smile::smile:
benedict
07-13-2007, 07:19 PM
thanks for sharing your reels though. would you care to translate the text in english? actually, never mind... i will attempt to translate it myself when i have some time.
I'll try to translate it myself too... when I have some time too.
OR maybe you could ask L'Ombre to translate his texts... His english is better than mine.
Some news about the translation. L'Ombre is quite busy, but he promised to do his best.
For the moment, here's a Babelfish translation of his blog's page about MZD in Paris in June 26, 2007 : the result is not really... (http://fr.babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Flombredesidees.over-blog.org%2Farticle-11062126.html&lp=fr_en&btnTrUrl=Traduire)
But you can also see the approximative translation of the comments (http://fr.babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Flombredesidees.over-blog.org%2Farticle-11062126.html&lp=fr_en&btnTrUrl=Traduire), specially those from Claro, Mad Translator  who experimented a new kind of MZD's game, as he said on another blog : TTT (Torture The Translator)
And talking about this "another blog", and for those who can't meet MZD during the Paperback Tour, if you wanna ask him something, you'd better have a look to what've been posted here (http://www.houseofleaves.com/forum/showpost.php?p=95016&postcount=52)...and follow the link.
Nota : you can post your questions on Culture Café's blog even in english.
Nota #2 : in order to prevent double posting from the snail, you'd better follow this topic (http://www.houseofleaves.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4889). Don't be afraid, we used to post in french and in english...for your eyes only

<a href="http://www.madart.com/">Mad Art Gallery</a> doesn't currently have confirmation, but I wouldn't doubt the random blogger... that has more information than we do...
Hello from the random blogger!
As I mentioned in my post, I got the information from a local bookstore Left Bank Books. (I can't post the url since I'm new to the forum, but it is left hyphen bank dot com.) The clerk simply copied it from their calendar onto a bookmark for me, because she said it wouldn't be out on their schedule of events until next month's issue of their newsletter. I don't really have any more information than that, but if I happen to be by Mad Art Gallery (I'm a local artist) I'll certainly inquire.
However, I just thought I'd say hello and invite anyone who is interested in the St. Louis event to contact me.
Great forums by the way.
Regards,
AVD

What I meant to say earlier in this thread was "there's a good possibility mzd.info will not be covering these dates as they are all on weekdays and we don't have much vacation time. As much as we love going out and covering these events, looks like it probably won't be happening." But what I really posted was before I knew anything about the dates. Have fun!
