That is an excerpt from Dow Mossman's The Stones of Summer. I've not finished it yet but I can already tell it is the greatest book I've ever read. I came upon this passage just now and thought it would be cool to post on the HoL board, as a recommendation and a tight little reference to House of Leaves.
